Let them eat cake

I’m a member of the Australian Textile Arts and Surface Design Association and each year  the New South Wales branch organises an exhibition of member’s work which is held in the Palm House in the beautiful Botanical Gardens here in Sydney.

Palm House ExhibitionPalm HouseErected in 1876, the Palm House is the oldest glasshouse in New South Wales.

It’s a small, but well lit, venue and it’s always wonderful to stroll through the gardens before looking at the exhibition.

Let Them Eat CakeThe opening of this year’s exhibition was last Saturday – just look at the cake we had for afternoon tea! One thing I love about textile gatherings is that they often involve partaking in cake.

Some of the exhibits were pretty good too!  I am a new member and haven’t tried my hand at exhibiting yet, but I hope by next year I will have some work, and the confidence, to give it a go.
